You are not the same person you were last month if you are learning and growing. Because of that reason, you should not base your identity on someone you used to be. The other thing you should do to stop being hard on yourself is being objective about your thoughts and emotions. Looking at your thoughts and emotions objectively is not an easy thing. When you are hard on yourself, you should ask yourself if you would say those things to another person. If those things cannot be said to them, that’s a good sign of not being hard on yourself.
