Self-care is the act of setting up some time for yourself so you can do what leaves your body and mind feeling fresh and rejuvenated. As a developer, seeing the damage you are going to yourself with the long work schedules may not be possible, but the harm you bring upon yourself is inevitable. It is a no brainer that the social lives of most developers. However, having people around is one of the ways you can escape your comfort zone. Your lifestyle and state of mind will be just fine if you do it for the weekend. You can hang out with your friends and engage in board games like scrabble and chess. Alternatively, you can ride bicycles in the neighbourhood, go to a party, and attend events. The end result of this is a feeling of freshness and a flow of fresh energy.
Set aside some time to go out. It is known for a fact that coding clogs the brain. You can avoid regular headaches and cases of stress by taking breaks to go out. A twenty-minute break every three hours is more recommended. During Thai break, avoid touching your phone or any computer. The twenty minutes are for recess, and you should step outside and take a breath of fresh air. You could also take a short walk, strike a conversation with a workmate about matters not related to work, wash your face with cold water or enjoy a snack. There is no better way to regroup your mind and keep it clog free.
